Atlanta Recycles Day was the culmination of 2007 city-wide activities supporting Atlanta’s commitment to a cleaner and greener city.  Atlanta Recycles Day followed the success of Arms Around Atlanta~Earth Day activities and celebration in March. Read More about Arms Around Atlanta Earth Day.

Ian Zabor and Kanika Greenlee run in the Mayor-thon.  Ian is the husband of Amanda Baxter, KAtlB board member. Kanika represents Keep America Beautiful as a KAtlB board member.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) and its Solid Waste Services (SWS) division announced a new program to be implemented in October, 2008, that will motivate the community to participate in an expanded residential curbside recycling program.

The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) updated the public on Project Green Space, a long-term plan for growing and managing Atlanta's greenspace system. Working with citizens, the City will create a vision and framework for a world-class system that connects people with great public spaces, nature preserves, parks, plazas, and streetscapes.
